Rome... We went to Rome and did all that was possible to do in 3 days.
First Day:(Tuesday)
On the first day, We got there late and we listened to the Rick Steves audioguide tour for Rome and he took us all around to churches, the Trevi fountain, The pantheon, and just around the city to see old Egyptian columns and old ruins. And spent some time in the hot tub in our hotel after that. Then had dinner at a place called Ginger.
Second day:(Wednesday)
On the second day, We spent some more time in the Pantheon and did a more detailed tour and we watched the movie Gladiator to prepare us for the Coliseum. And we spent some more time in the hot tub, and had gelato even though it was poring with rain and was freezing cold. We went to dinner at a french restaurant.
Third day:(Thursday)
We got up early and went to the Coliseum!! We did 2 tours to really understand how things were in the olden days. We went to lunch at a small resturaunt we found on the side of the street. Then we did Gladiator school and we all did great!! I have the new nickname The Canadian Dwarf. Even though the teacher did not think I would do great, I killed both my brother and my father. My mother did not participate. She was too scared of the Canadian Dwarf. Then we went to a resturaunt for dinner, because no food is allowed in our hotel room.
Fourth day:(Friday)-The day we left.
We went to the Hot Tub, Resturaunt for Lunch, and Papa did some shopping. Then we rented a car and drove back to Florence.
What is a gladiator?
A gladiator is someone who fights against another gladiator to the death in an arena or amphitheater (this is what the coliseum is) for the amusement of the city. After the fight once one of the gladiators is on the floor but not dead yet, the emperor gets to decide weather he lives or dies, based on how well he fought. The gladiators were like old fashioned celebrities!
