We have been here over 10 days and have, finally, found our feet. Jet lag is over and education has begun!

That said, the choices of what to do are overwhelming as there is just so much to do. There are signs for concerts, and free musical services in churches; museums that require multiple visits; Cristie has connected us with a home schooling community (they call it "home ed"); local hikes and city tours (plus a Harry Potter tour); a synagogue we want to visit; not to mention all the colleges we want to see!

All that is just the informal education component...

We have been using our environment to do math and science, including calculating currency conversions, comparing prices and value (cost per gram) at supermarkets, and most interestingly learning about how pianos work by examining the numbers of keys, strings, and how tensions and stress work with weight and length to create sound.

The kids are blogging too (including about how locks work using gravity and levers...more science), which gives them a chance to develop writing, vocabulary, and grammar skills.

Our plan is to add some formal math lessons (we think we've found a home schooling program that will help), and typing (especially for me and Nina Liv).

Finally, we have to add Cristie's work and social engagements to keep the extrovert happy and wow.... it feels like a lot.

Of course, I have to keep shouting at the universe on Twitter and update facebook, and manage the blog, and frankly it feels like I could do social media 12 hours a day....

All of which to say we have lots of first-world problems, nothing to complain about, and more than we can comprehend to celebrate.

Now if I can just find time to blog about other, more interesting subjects, like Cristie being a Plumer "fellow" at St. Anne's and that college's

connection to Canada and the fact it was established to give young women a chance at a proper higher education, or Brexit, or how proud we are of our kids flexibility, adaptability, and willingness to embrace this amazing opportunity.... perhaps next time.
