  1.  Who developed/created the periodic table?

Dmitri Mendeleev, a Russian chemist and inventor created the periodic table. He came up with the periodic law and formulated the periodic table of elements, with which he used to correct properties of elements and predict the properties of 8 undiscovered elements.

  1.  What information is conveyed about each element in the standard periodic table?

The information conveyed about each element in the standard periodic table are,

  • The atomic weight tells you how much it weighs.

  • The element name tells you its name.

  •  The element symbol is an abbreviation of the origin of the word for that particular element

  • The atomic number tells you the number of protons in the nucleus of an atom.

  1.  What is the heaviest and what is the lightest element on the periodic table?

The lightest element is hydrogen with an atomic weight of 1.008 while the heaviest element is Ununoctium with an atomic weight of 294, which is human made. The heaviest naturally occurring element is uranium with an atomic weight of 238.0289

  1.  What is your favourite element and why?

My 2 favourite elements (I could not choose just one) are hydrogen(H) and oxygen(O) because:

  • The sun uses hydrogen as fuel.

  • We need oxygen to breathe.

  • Water is made up of 2 hydrogen atoms and 1 oxygen atom.

  1. What is one “fun fact” about the periodic table?

One “fun fact” about the periodic table is that “The only letter not in the periodic table is the letter J.” -ducksters
